Four Across

It does. A floor is a room on our server even when you go down alone — the grid, the clock and the chest all live there, so there is nothing we could save to your device that would make it work on a plane. The daily puzzle is a different matter: see below.
Open Past puzzles and tap Save to keep a month on your device. Saved days are marked with a folded corner and can be solved with no connection at all. They count towards your solved days the next time you are online.
Tap Descend, then share the invite code. Up to four people can be in a floor, and whoever opened it starts the descent once everybody says they are ready.
Gems are earned by clearing floors and by helping, and are spent on reveals or on a letter tile of your choosing. A tile fills every square in the grid whose answer is that letter, all at once. Neither can be bought with money — there is nothing to buy in Four Across.
Progress is filed under an identifier kept on your device, so deleting the app or moving to a new phone starts you fresh. We know that is not good enough and accounts that travel with you are coming.
Settings → Delete my account, in the app. It is immediate and permanent. See the privacy page for exactly what goes.
